Prague Indian Film Festival 2026

Prague Indian Film Festival 2026
8–10 October 2026
Kino Světozor, Vodičkova 41, Prague 1

The Prague Indian Film Festival returns to Kino Světozor for its 23rd edition, bringing three days of Indian cinema, culture and storytelling to the heart of Prague. From 8 to 10 October 2026, the programme offers a journey through contemporary and classic Indian filmmaking, from award-winning arthouse productions and Bollywood romance to genre experiments and cult favourites from past decades. All films will be screened with Czech and English subtitles, making the festival accessible to both local and international audiences.

Among this year's highlights is Cactus Pears, a sensitive story of returning home and searching for identity that won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic at the Sundance Film Festival. The programme also ventures into very different cinematic territory with the vampire comedy Thamma, historical drama Main Vaapas Aaunga, and a return to the cult modern Indian classic Rang De Basanti, which continues to resonate with audiences twenty years after its release.

The celebration extends beyond the cinema with the accompanying Indian Dance Festival, including workshops and the Bollywood Fiesta gala evening. Whether you are already passionate about Indian cinema or curious to discover it beyond the familiar Bollywood spectacle, the festival offers three colourful days of films, dance and contemporary Indian culture in Prague.
