Housing, Cities and Cinema Under One Roof
The 15th edition of the international Film and Architecture Festival returns to Prague from 30 September to 5 October 2026, exploring one of the most pressing social questions of our time: housing. Under the provocative motto 'To Flat or Not to Flat', the festival brings together contemporary world cinema that examines the many faces of home — from collective and affordable housing to urban transformation, gentrification, and the architectural visions shaping everyday life.
Curated by Václav Ševčík, this year's programme promises investigative critiques, inspiring stories of communities overcoming the housing crisis, and cinematic portraits of iconic buildings by world-renowned architects. The festival will screen films not only in Prague but also in Brno and around twenty other cities across the Czech Republic, making it one of the most geographically broad cultural events of the autumn season.
Organised by the association Kruh and part of the international Films on Art Network, the festival sits at the unique crossroads of cinema, architecture, and urban studies. It is perfect for architects, urban planners, film enthusiasts, and anyone curious about how the built environment reflects and shapes society.
