Children's Island in Prague 1

Located on the Smichov side of the Vltava river on Janacek embankment, between the Legion and Jirasek Bridges, it is easily accessible by public transport. Under the treetops, you will find different playgrounds suitable for children of any age, from toddlers to adolescents. The Island gives parents an opportunity to relax and enjoy peace in the heart of the city, just like an oasis in the middle of the desert. First, there is a playground for the youngest kids with play elements, slides, swings and a sandpit. The second zone offers a playing area for preschool children with many climbing frames and play structures. It is a refreshing spot on hot summer days because children can run under the cool water that is pouring from the ground. The third part includes sports grounds with artificial grass, a basketball court and an area with tartan surface for tennis, volleyball or football. There are ping-pong tables,  a skate park and a pétanque area. The whole entertainment  and relaxation complex is guarded 24/7 and an administrator´s house it located at the entrance to the park.


The whole area provides its visitors with plenty of inviting benches, clean toilets, shaded walks and a drinking fountain. However, there are no refreshment stands. Children's Island is one the few parks in Prague that offers special attractions designed for disabled children who can exercise and enhance their motor skills . This well known family destination has a lot to recommend it and is definitely worth a half day trip.
