Collegium 1704

Description
Collegium 1704 is a Prague-based baroque orchestra of great international repute. Established in 2005 by the conductor and harpsichordist Václav Luks, the orchestra has its own concert series running in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum – one of the most beautiful concert halls in Prague. Collegium 1704 presents famous orchestral and choral works by well-known composers as well as long-forgotten and now rediscovered treasures of the baroque repertoire.

Apart from orchestral concerts, Collegium 1704 also puts on a chamber series Collegium Vocale 1704, focused on vocal pieces of the baroque era. Under the baton of its founder Václav Luks, Collegium 1704 often performs at major international music festivals (Salzburger Festspiele, Rencontres Musicales de Vézelay) and in prestigious concert halls (Elbphilharmonie Hamburg). The orchestra regularly collaborates with highly regarded singers such as Philippe Jaroussky, Julia Lezhneva, and Magdalena Kožená.
