Forget spooky Halloween for a moment. Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, is a colourful celebration of life, memory and those who are no longer with us.
On 5 November, Holešovická tržnice will host the fifth edition of this popular festival, filling the Market Square and surrounding areas with Mexican food, mariachi music, colourful masks, costumed performers, a festival parade and a traditional ofrenda prepared with the support of the Mexican Embassy. Hall 13 will host a free Mexican market with products, food and creative workshops, while Hall 11 offers a special programme for children and families. Most of the festival is free to attend.
