Known as the largest exhibition in the Czech republic, the orchid show at the Prague Botanic garden features beautiful exotic flowers from all over the globe.
From 27 February to 15 March 2026, the tropical greenhouse Fata Morgana at the Prague Botanic Garden will once again glow with colour and fragrance during the traditional Orchid Exhibition: Paths of Discoverers. Open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 9:00 to 19:00 (closed on Mondays), the exhibition invites visitors to step into a lush tropical world filled with extraordinary orchids, themed installations, and a popular plant sale, all set within one of Prague’s most beautiful green spaces.
This year’s exhibition takes visitors on a journey back in time, following the footsteps of explorers, collectors, and gardeners who brought orchids from distant tropical rainforests to Europe. Discover stories from an era when expeditions crossed oceans in search of rare botanical treasures, when newly discovered orchid species were worth fortunes, and when caring for these exotic plants was a daily adventure in the first Czech greenhouses. Alongside richly coloured orchid displays and carefully designed tropical arrangements, visitors can enjoy a traditional orchid sale and, on weekends, creative workshops where you can make your own miniature greenhouse with houseplants. The exhibition installation was created in cooperation with the Horticultural Academy in Mělník under the guidance of Klára Franc Vavříková, with curation by Ing. Romana Rybková of the Prague Botanic Garden.
After the long winter months, the Orchid Exhibition offers a welcome burst of life, colour, and inspiration. Whether you come to admire the delicate beauty of the flowers, learn the fascinating stories behind their journey to Europe, or take home your own exotic plant, the Fata Morgana greenhouse promises a memorable experience. Let yourself be carried away by the elegance of orchids and enjoy a spring moment of wonder in the heart of Prague’s botanical paradise.
